Yes, there is an ending on Dragon Age Origins that doesn't kill your main character at the end, actually there are three: *SPOILERS* you can sacrifice either Alistar or Logain (one or the other, as an earlier choice will prevent the use of the other character), or you can perform a ritual with Morigan to destroy the archdemon without sacrificing anyone.
No, there is no choice that gives you a New Game Plus mode, where you can start again with the same character and level just like Mass Effect. Dragon Age Origins doesn't allow this. However perhaps Dragon Age 2 will, considering it's being made now, and isn't being started over 5 years ago like Origins was.
