What does the evil tomes in dragon age do?

i found one near the chantry and i dont know what it does im afraid to read it cause i think it might do something to my character what are its effects on the game exactlyWhat does the evil tomes in dragon age do?
If you destroy all 5 scattered throughout the world at that time, then you will be pointed to one last book that you can read or destroy. Reading any of the books will grant you two attribute points (used to upgrade strength, willpower, etc for example), but reading or taking any book other than the 6th one will prevent you from getting to the area where the 6th book is. I recommend destroying all 5 (if you can find them) and then reading the 6th one if you want to.

Can my comp run Dragon age:Origins.?

My computer has a

intel pentium 4 single core 2.8 ghz processor

nvidia geforce 7300 GT

3 Gigs of DDR1 ram

I downloaded the Character creation demo, and it worked flawlessly. the opening video and the creator itself had absolutely no lag whatsoever.

so my questions are as follows.

is a single core 2.8ghz processor close enough to the equivalent of a dual core 1.4 ghz, that i can play Dragon age?

is the character creator any decent level of a 'test' of how well the game will work? I dont mind if its graphics are low as long as the framerate is stable. Can my comp run Dragon age:Origins.?
Completely the wrong category....

I think you should be fine though. A single core processor should in general run as fast, or faster than a dual core at half the clock speed, so unless the install insists on dual core, or a certain instruction set, you'll probably be OK.

Why can't I have Fenris or Isabela as companions in Dragon Age 2?

My character is a warrior, and I could'nt find Fenris or Isabela anywhere. These are the two companions i dont have. Is it because I used the infinite money and xp glitch? because this is my third character i made. I have them as my companions in my mage character and i didnt use glitches, is it because of this or just the class i picked? Why can't I have Fenris or Isabela as companions in Dragon Age 2?
Did you do the missions that you have to do in Act 1 (after the year of work to get into Kirkwall) that you had to do to get those two characters? If you don't do those two missions, then you can't get those two characters. The glitch you speak of doesn't effect the possibility of getting any character in the game. Why can't I have Fenris or Isabela as companions in Dragon Age 2?
Fenris is only available in act 1. You should have gotten a letter on the desk in Gamlen's house beginning a quest called "bait and switch". This is where you meet and recruit him.

Isabela is tricky. She actually does not show up until after you recruit Anders. Once you have him you can go to the Hanged Man and start her recruitment quest. Why can't I have Fenris or Isabela as companions in Dragon Age 2?
I played as a Female warrior and i managed to get Isabela abd Fenris as companions.
you will pick Isabela up in the Hanged Man and Fenris contacts you in a letter asking you too help him find something. But i think if talking to them and saying the wrong thing youll cause them to leave and not return.

What would be the best set-up for a mage in dragon age: origins?

This is for my character, not Wynne or Morrigan. I know Staff of the Magister Lord is the most powerful. But I only have a few gold to spend. As of now, as these are the ones I can buy with gold, I was thinking of getting:

Final Reason/Winter's Breath (from Warden's Peak)

Tevinter Mage Robes

Not sure what other good gears I should get. Thanks to all those that answer. What would be the best set-up for a mage in dragon age: origins?
You definitely want to get the Tevinter Mage Robes they provide a significant bonus to spellpower and mana regeneration.

note: if you have high coercion skill you could do the following quest to net yourself some nice gold http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Precious_Metals

and for optimal mage equiptment you should probably check out

Dragon Age Origins: Can you have more than one romantic relationship?

I was going to have my character be involved with Zevran and maybe Leliana but I'm at the final battle right now so I don't think it matters too much. But I just wondered for my next game. XD Potential consequences in your answer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!Dragon Age Origins: Can you have more than one romantic relationship?
Yes. You can, but there will be consequences. You can flirt with two people at the same time, but once both their affection meters get too high, the next time you talk to one of them, they'll confront you and force you to choose. For example, you can make Alistair fall in love with you, then go flirt with Zevran, and that'll be okay at first, until Zevran's affection thing gets around 75 or something. Then the next time you talk to either Alistair or Zevran they would be all like "So you've been getting pretty close with so-and-so...." and force you to make a choice. Then, say, after you tell Alistair Zevran was nothing but a fling and you love only him, you would go talk to Zevran and he'll be all "So I guess it's over..." and you'll get disapproval with the rejected party. After you break up with someone or reject their romantic advances, it's almost impossible to get back in one with them. Um... was that confusing? Hope not. Anyway, you can do google searches on it. I remember once my cousin was playing Dragon Age and he bedded Morrigan, Leliana, and Zevran (because I dared him to xD) So, short answer, yes. You can. Consequences will be disapproval from the rejected party and a confrontation with your lover. It was rather funny xD But you cannot keep more than one love interest. They will force you choose eventually
Yes and no. In any one playthrough, you can flirt with every romance candidate up to a point, but if memory serves correctly you cannot "seal the deal", so to speak, with more than one. A notable exception is the infamous group scene you can initiate between your character, Leliana, Zevran and an NPC in the Denerim *cough* house of reasonably priced affection.

Also, if memory serves correctly, you can sleep with Morrigan while flirting Leliana, but she will be pissed.Dragon Age Origins: Can you have more than one romantic relationship?
Yes, there are two ways to go about it. Either break up after getting one in to bed and move on to the next one or cheat and try to juggle them all for a while. The game only recognizes one love interest. If you cheat you will be forced to choose. If you break up and move on the one you end with will be considered your only love interest in the epilogue.
Lol yes and no,

but i do happen to know you can harden Lelianna depending on your answeres (if you kill Marjalone) then she lets you have threesomes (or foursomes if you have Zeverin in your party) with people like Isabella (lol it doesn't show a scene though its still funny)Dragon Age Origins: Can you have more than one romantic relationship?
No
My character was involved with morrigan and I could not be involved with lelina.I wish you could have more than two

Of course each different character you have can have a different relationship.

Origins%26gt;age 2
It is possible to sleep with all of them, but you'll be forced at some point to choose between your romance partners

  • How to fix dragon age 2 demo?

I can get through the demo until it gets to the character customization. At that point it says loading... and then freezes. I've played it through there twice and that happened both times. I then have to ctrl alt delete it at which point it says that it has stopped working. Any fixes? Help is greatly appreciated. How to fix dragon age 2 demo?
I would like to add that I'm having the exact same issue. I'm running the game in Windows 7, 64 bit. Not sure what the OP's configuration is, but I'd advise the OP to edit his question and try to be as specific as possible in regards to his hardware and operational system configuration. And then hope a tech wiz comes to our rescue. ;-)

Can I keep my char in Dragon Age II downloadable content?

Will all of her relationships and choices remain?

And will her romanced character remain... romanced? xD

Is it also possible to somehow continue the romanced relationship? New speeches or cutscenes? Can I keep my char in Dragon Age II downloadable content?
The DLC just adds extra questlines to the main game. You can access them any time, even after you finish. The romances will be acknowledged differently depending on what act you start the DLC in. It's nothing big though, just some banter.

Dragon Age: If I make a new character for awakening how can they access the new talents?

because the new skills and talents all require level 20+Dragon Age: If I make a new character for awakening how can they access the new talents?
Supposedly, they start you off at a high level, like level 20.

I've only continued from existing data. Also, you would still need to have unlocked the new specializations to have access to them.Dragon Age: If I make a new character for awakening how can they access the new talents?
There are 2 prerequisities to getting your much desired talents/skills (which is essentially what the last guy said):

    (1) Obtain the level required to use them

    (2) Complete the quests associated with those talents. As with character specializations, you'll have to complete some quest or do whatever the game requires you to do to "unlock" these. Once unlocked, all your characters will be able to have access to these abilities, even if they haven't done the quest/unlock themselves.

Note: A great resource for finding out just how to unlock various skills and talents is the Dragon Age Wiki. Here is the link to their spells page. You can click on the particular skill icon you want to find out and it will give you detailed information on it (where to obtain it, etc).

Dragon age origins 2 looks like total crap.

The reason why the first one was so good was the tactical aspect of the game.

Now it looks like some korean hack and slash 3rd person rpg game.

Very dissapointing follow up to an amazing game
Really, what do all you people listen to the crap that IGN and GI spew out, Bioware didn't get rid of character customization, and the tactical aspect is still there. the only aspect of the game that is hack and slash is the primary attack. because is DAO the auto attack was nothing but one click.

Usually the original(first game) is the best, and the others are just repetitive. Example: Halo, Movies, etc.

So, I'm not surprise if DA2 sucks so I am disappointed.

Most likely, DA2 is just a money-grabberAny Dragon Age fans disappointed with the direction of DA2?

On Dragon Age Origins I asked the demon to become a blood mage and she said i could but it doesnt say i am one?

She said made me a blood mage but on the character screen it says im just a regular mage and i dont have any blood mage spells. What do I do?On Dragon Age Origins I asked the demon to become a blood mage and she said i could but it doesnt say i am one?
She gives you the ability to specialization as a Blood Mage, that means that when you have a specialization point (you get one at level 7 and another one at level 14) you can choose Blood Mage as a set of abilities you will be able to access then.On Dragon Age Origins I asked the demon to become a blood mage and she said i could but it doesnt say i am one?
you have to wait untill you level up to gain a specialization. when you reach level 7, you get to choose your first specialization and when you are lvl 14 you get to choose a second.

They are never gone for good, once you get to the party camp you can pick any member of the team you want to come with you when you venture out into the world. Dont worry they are never really "gone" unless you ask them to leave for good in the camp.A question about removing a party member from the group in Dragon Age Origins?
They're not gone. They just go to camp, where you can still choose them for later parties.

The only way you lose characters is if you directly tell them to leave in camp, or if you lose approval and upset one of them so much they decide to leave.

Does "Dragon Age Origins" play like a strategy game?

From what I've seen "Dragon Age Origins" seems to play like a RTS. Or do you have more control of the characters.

I don't really like RTS, although I see the appeal, so if it plays like an RTS, I'm not going to get on with it.Does "Dragon Age Origins" play like a strategy game?
It is basically World of Warcraft but no online. If you want to get if for the PC, it is easy to run and it is a blast. For the xbox or ps3, it sucks because you have less control over your teammates.Does "Dragon Age Origins" play like a strategy game?
in dragon age origins you do have control over all of the characters in your party, you can switch to any of them at any time.they also gain xp whether your playing that character or not,so they level up with you and you pick which skills and things to put points into, even the characters you leave behind at your camp will level up with every one else.so if you use a couple of characters more than others you don't have to worry that the other members of your party are weak and you will need to watch there back all the time.it may take a little time to get use to switching between characters and setting them up for fighting but other than that its a great game.you can check out this walk through and see what you think.hope this helps.have fun gaming.

Will dragon age origins run on my computer?

I have downloaded the character creator, and that seems to run fine, i have a 2.4qhz quad core processor, 3 GB of ram, and ample HDD space, the problem i foresee is that my petty nvidia 7050/610i GPU cannot take it. If i can run the creator, can i run the full game ???Will dragon age origins run on my computer?
Minimum requirements call for a 6600 equivalent card. Recommended card is the 8800 gts. I run it with a 8800 gtx on high (but not very high) settings with 4gigs ram and dual core. Personally, I wouldn't bother trying since arguably the best part of the game is the graphics. Otherwise, it's a LOT like playing Baldur's Gate 2. See? Not worth it.

You can get a decent video card for ~$100 these days. My advice is to find even a used card off craigslist so you can run these games.

In Dragon Age 2 how do you get Fenris to like you?

I just keep making him mad and making him basically hate me, and since he is my favorite character I don't want him to leave, and I wouldn't mind starting a romance With him.In Dragon Age 2 how do you get Fenris to like you?
You don't need him to like you. Earning rivalry points isn't a bad thing. As long as you completely max out the rivalry or friendship part of the bar before the end of the game he will stay loyal to you. You can also romance him as a rival. Don't feel like you need to kiss his butt, just be consistent in your choices.

If you really want to be his friend take a hard stance against mages, blood magic, and slavery. Once his friendship bar is maxed out it locks and you don't have to worry about gaining or losing any more points. In Dragon Age 2 how do you get Fenris to like you?
just say everything you can negative about mages and he'll love you. anders will hate you though so watch out for that if you care.

Mass Effect is different from Dragon Age. Whilst Dragon Age is a tactical RPG mass Effect is an Action RPG. The romance subplots are not that good in the first game but they get better in the sequel. Honestly, everything get's better in the sequel. Still, I suggest you play through the first game as your decisions there carry over to the 2nd installment.
kotor 1 and 2 and also mass effect 1 and 2 are actually made by the same company. these all folow the same basic plot tools choose good and evil and bang a party member where kotor is the same turn based style combat that dragon age is i prefer the streaming combat from mass effect. and be on the lookout cause there is another dragon age coming out soonCan anyone suggest games that are similar to Dragon Age?

    Dragon age For playstation 3?

My dad and I recently got dragon age and he created a character being a warrior and saved the game! I would like to create a charachter too and have my own storyline! Is there any way to have 2 save slots on the game so we can both play and have differt charachters, backgrounds etc.? if so how?

    thanx!Dragon age For playstation 3?
The game automatically saves different characters to different slots so all you have to do is start a new game and save as you normally would. Whenever you want to switch characters select Load Game from the main menu and press the square button to select which character's data you wish to load.Dragon age For playstation 3?
That's easy. when you turn on your PS3. make sure you create your own user account. and password for you to remember. this way you can keep your own game saves, without worrying if anybody would delete it. so when you pop in Dragon Age is it will like playing it new again. only this time your game save will be there not your fathers. once you are finish playing you can log off your new account and log back onto the account you and your father were sharing before

  • What are all the characters in DA:O that you see in DA2?

I got to thinking and I couldn't think of all the characters that you see in Dragon Age 2 that were also in Dragon Age: Origins.

I know Anders was in Awakening and Zevran, Alistair, and Liliana are in the DA2. Also the 2 dwarves (enchantment!) were in DA2 also.

I would love it if someone could just name all the characters that are in both games (including Awakening.)

Thank you!!!What are all the characters in DA:O that you see in DA2?
There's Sketch from Leliana's Song who has a quest that is broken for most people. Nathanial Howe is also supposed to have a cameo. Sophia Dryden shows up if you spared her in Origins. Merril, Keeper Marethari, and a few of the other Dalish elves in DA2 also were in Origins. You see Bann Teagan and Flemeth too.

That's all I can really think of. There is evidence that both Morrigan and Conner (the possessed kid from Redcliffe) were supposed to have cameos. People who poked around in the files found a head model for Morrigan and there is a voiceover of Conner that was never used.

Is there a way to prevent this? Or if i only make Anora queen what will happen?Dragon Age Origins i need help for landsmeet outcomes?
If you are not a human noble you can't marry Alistair if he becomes king. He will break up with you unless during his quest to see his sister, you chose the harsh option which makes him a bit more open to breaking rules. In this case he would keep you as his mistress, which isn't terribly romantic.

I think the best option in your case is to make Anora queen. You and Alistair will stay together as wardens.

2 handed because it sounds like ur not going for finesse which is needed for the shield

I did sword and shield for my first character, you still do a lot of damage while also having shield bashing stunning abilities. two handed seemed like you had so little defense so it would only be recommended for experienced players. so go with sword and shield its really good for offensive and keeps you alive longer (your team mates will die a lot)Which method of sword handling should I use for Dragon Age Origins: sword and shield or two handed?
sword and shield the one handed swords do a decent amount of damage and the shield is great for defense Pulse two handed warriors have a lower Chance to hit typically

You can't be both a warrior and do magic. Mages can do magic and you can be a mage as an elf or a human. Dwarves can not do magic. Warriors will be good at different talents having to do with making battle and you will have to focus on their strength and willpower to make them better. Dexterity is also useful if you want them to wield dual weapons. What should i pick in dragon age origins?

Hi, I finally got him to like me enough then realized I dont know how to switch from thief to assassin...? How do I do this?Learned assassin from Zevron in Dragon Age Origins.. how do I set it to my specialization on my main character?
You get two specialization points in a game.

At Lv.7 you get your first one and the second is at Lv.14.

If you're under Lv.7 (I doubt it, I passed 7 in the Lothering area), then you can't allocate it yet.

It's applied in the levelup screen. Open up a character's status menu and hit the Level Up button.

You'll go to the attributes screen, but should have 0 attributes to allocate.

On the left side of the menu are your class specialties. If you have a specialty point available, you can put one into Assassin.

Two handed swords are slow and just annoying to use.Which method of sword handling should I use for Dragon Age Origins: sword and shield or two handed?
In my estimation, you should have at least 1 meatshield tank in your party. Because of the vast amount of enemies they pit against you (often times ranged/bowers), you'll need someone absorbing all those arrows. If you have Allistar as your main tank, he can be that meat shield and you can be a 2 handed weapon guy. Otherwise, if you do not have Allistar in your party, I would say to go the sword+shield route. You only need 1 main tank. So take your pick. It is actually disadvantageous to have 2 sword+shielders in your party cause they simply can't dish out much damage. But if all you have is damage dealing 2-hand weapon people (like Sten) as your tanks...you're doomed to failure. So, as a final analysis:

    (1) Have Allistar as your sword+ shielder and YOU be the 2-handed warrior or...

    (2) Have Sten (or another NPC) as your 2-hand warrior and YOU be the sword+shield warrior.

The choice is pretty much yours and this game allows having all these NPCs in your party to give you the choice. Sword+shielders are good meatshields, can dish out decent damage, but if you want a damage dealing tank you will take 2-hander (at the expense of the defense a shield gives). You should have at least 1 main tank with a shield, but the choice is yours.

In Dragon Age Origins How do you get married?

how do you? and can a female character marry a female npc? i wanna marry morrigan lol

also do you need your approval bar up high or something? In Dragon Age Origins How do you get married?
Only the human nobles can marry the Queen (if male) or King (if female).

None of the other companions can be married. You need to have a high persuade skill to convince the Landsmeet that you should be consort, as well as convince Anora. If you are already in a romance with Alistair, he doesn't require much convincing :D

You cannot marry Morrigan. She goes so far as to explain it to you every time you bring up the subject of love. In fact, if you persist, her approval rating of you will go DOWN.

She's, uhm, not exactly the kind of girl people bring home to meet mother.
try http://www.gamefaqs.com/mac/984776-drago鈥?/a> it's a good walk through for figuring out relationships within the game, also you don't really get married, as a female char you have a chance to marry Alistair and become queen, as the male you have the chance to marry the queen and become king, other than that you can get you're approval rating high enough for characters that they decide to stay with you at the end, but it's all basically just done as a conversation after the final battleIn Dragon Age Origins How do you get married?
The only characters you can marry are Anora (if you're male) or Alistair (if female). I know to marry Alistair, you have to have used the noble human origin ... not sure about Anora, but I would imagine that's also true. Your wedding isn't actually shown in the game, though.
I think you can only get married if you play your cards right and marry the queen.

You can however, do the horizontal mambo with the other characters. Leliana is my favorite, I just love her french accent. In Dragon Age Origins How do you get married?

  • Dragon Age: Origins, Character and Alistair both live happily ever after? *spoilers*?

First run through, female Dalish ranger. Fell in love with Alistair, he's adorable.

But here's the thing. I killed Logain to make Alistair happy, made Alistair king. (That was a mistake.) Well it comes down to Arch Demon killing time and Alistair goes and sacrifices himself for me. (I actually cried.)

So is there any way to go about this so that I can get my happily ever after? Preferably without him sleeping with Morrigan. Traitorous wretch...

I have an alt save from the Deep Roads, I'm picking back up there. Thanks for the help!Dragon Age: Origins, Character and Alistair both live happily ever after? *spoilers*?
Well you cannot be his Queen if you are an elf, you have to be human. I think he has to sleep with Morrigan in order for a gray warden to not get killed when the Arch Demon is destroyed.Dragon Age: Origins, Character and Alistair both live happily ever after? *spoilers*?
Lol! Sounds like you enjoy your video games. Cool Stuff.

Well, unfortunately no, there is no way to go about being able to have your happily ever after without having him to have sleep with Morrigan.

Does anyone know how to defeat flemeth on dragon age origins?

i have a rogue that is my main character, alastrair, sten and wynne with me. i had her down to half her health and she kill all my party but me. then she grab me with her mouth. im level 16. im almost done with the game. want to beat her and dragon in the game.Does anyone know how to defeat flemeth on dragon age origins?
Have Sten use the sword Yusaris it has something like 10 attack against dragons. Like someone already mentioned get the drake scale armor for yourself, if you have the blood dragon armor put it on alistair or sten, and if you defeated the dragon in the urn of sacred ashes quest and got the armor made by Wade have sten or alistair wear it (all these have fire resistance) Get what weapons that can be enchanted with runes that do cold damage and get other accessories that deal cold damage or give fire resistance equipped on everyone. Also you should have Wynne learn the cold spells and you can always put it on an easier level for the fight. Good luck
Flemeth normally sticks to one position so all you have to do is use archers from a distance and use wynne from a distance too. Does your wynne has Cone of Cold or Blizzard spell ? If yes, then the job is very easy , use blizzard so that she will freeze for a moderate amount of time.. attack her all you can during that time, then after blizzard is over simply use it again.. You can use of Cone of Cold too, but blizzard is more powerful. Any more help ??Does anyone know how to defeat flemeth on dragon age origins?
you will need Wade superior drakescale armor at the least for the fire resist. equip whatever fire resist you have. bring all the range toons you have and just make sure to stay healed. if you do not have wynn then bring lots of heal pots.
I beat her by making myself the healer by switching character and then just let everyone attack and i kept healing like crazy! have some mana potions handy :)Does anyone know how to defeat flemeth on dragon age origins?
get wanes superior drakescale armor and any other equipment for fire resistance. use a bow and fight for a distance since she will not move (just run away when she pulls you in)

Dragon age origins.. Character selection ?

Im currently playing this game and what a great game it is!! But im faced with a dilemma and im undoubtedly going to be faced with this all through the game, Im playing as a human warrior and Iv currently got in my party.. Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana. I didnt really want to but I replaced my dog for Leiana due to the fact I needed a rogue to crack open chests for me, Morrigan id like to keep because shes my only Mage and Iv grew pretty fond of Alister but now Iv the option of taking on Sten who I freed from a cage, He looks pretty meaty and I expect pretty good to have in a rook but I cant decide who to drop ??? any suggestions ?? Also how do I change my party during the game or is it only when you acquire someone new you get to choose ??

ThanksDragon age origins.. Character selection ?
Unfortunately the game requires a balanced party and there aren't that many people to choose from so you don't have a whole lot of choice in who you select.

You always need one tank, and that is normally going to be a sword%26amp;shield warrior. If this is your main character then great, if not then you need to keep Alistair in your party no matter what. A rogue is pretty much essential as well to open chests and disarm traps, and the only real choice for this spot is Leliana since your only other rogue choice is hopeless in this area.

You really also need at least one mage in your party at all times since their healing and crowd control spells are too powerful to do without. Morrigan is one of your choices and you will get another mage later. Generally a mage is preferable to a DPS (damage) character.

If your warrior uses sword%26amp;shield then Alistair is useless to you, so ditch him and use yourself as the tank. Your best party would then be Leliana + 1 mage, with the fourth member being either the other mage or a DPS. For now Leliana+Morrigan+Sten/dog is best.

If you are not a sword%26amp;shield guy then your options are more limited. You need Alistair to be the tank and you are forced to act as DPS leaving you with little choice but to take both Leliana and Morrigan for now. You might want to swap Morrigan for the other mage later.

You can change your party using the icon at the top of the screen that looks like a group of heads. You can't do this everywhere but it works in Lothering. You can also visit your camp from the main map then you will be asked to choose your party when you leave.Dragon age origins.. Character selection ?
It will come down to dropping Alistair or Leliana.

It depends if you want to have another warrior or a rogue. If you are the tank (sword + shield) then have Alistair do 2h or Leliana do dual-wield for dps (rouges are better at doing more damage).

If you are dps (2h), then you should just go with Alistair as the tank in your party and drop Leliana since rouges can't really tank.

I would actually suggest not taking Sten but wait until you progress a little more to pick up Wynne, who is really useful for healing. But then if you really want to pick up Sten, then definitely drop Alistair since then you will have 3 warriors.

Lastly, you can only change your party when you leave camp, and only when you have more than 3 companions to choose from.

ps. Your dog sucks. Good thing you dropped it.

Can you delete games in Dragon Age Origins for XBOX 360?

I need to delete some created characters that I'm not satisfied with but I can't figure out how.Can you delete games in Dragon Age Origins for XBOX 360?
Yeah, under Dashboard, select My Xbox, scroll all the way over to the very end, select system settings. The third option down should be memory. Under memory, select the storage device the game saves are on, either your hard drive or a memory card. Next should be a list of your character names and the place in the game you were, such as Ostagar while you saved. Select the character saves you want to delete, and that should free up some space.

Also, DON'T follow the advice of the first answer. That will delete all memory of your game, saves and everything off your xbox. Can you delete games in Dragon Age Origins for XBOX 360?

AoE spells/talents not working in tactics Dragon Age Origins?

Though I've assigned an area of effect spell or talent in a companion's tactics, when it comes time to battle, they'll never use it. I tire of switching back and forth between characters just to use a single spell. Does anyone have a solution?AoE spells/talents not working in tactics Dragon Age Origins?
Are they being interrupted while trying to cast the spell? You need to get them the highest level of combat training to decrease the likeliness of them being interrupted during spellcasting.

    or

What have you set as the "trigger" to casting the spell for example - self: surrounded by three enemies

maybe you need to fix that maybe its set to something that never happens so they never cast the spell

    or

Are they running out of mana by the time they get to that tactic setting so they don't have enough mana to cast it?

    hope one of those helps!

Which is the better way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: sword and shield or two-handed?

I plan to focus on my strength more than any other attribute. I want to be able to do a good amount of damage, but be able to defend myself? I will probably equip my character with the best armor and massive armor. Which way of handling weapons should I choose?Which is the better way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: sword and shield or two-handed?
Depends on what role you wish your character to have. Shields are best reserved for tanks, for soaking up damage and defending themselves. Alistair is the first party member you get after you finish your origin storyline, and he comes default with tanking gear and talents. So you don't need to make your grey warden the tank unless you plan on replacing Alistair in that role and building his talents as a different kind of warrior.

You'll find that most talents in the shield/1hander tree are focused on defending yourself and disabling enemies. (Stuns, knockdowns, etc.) Even with a ton of strength, that build is best suited for a tanking role. (And you'll deal way more damage with a 2 handed weapon if you have that much strength.) The constitution attribute is far more important with a shield than strength is. You only really need one tank, so having 2 warriors with shields and one handed weapons will definitely lessen the overall damage output of your party.

As for 2 handers, the 2 handed warrior talent tree is a very solid choice for damage dealing. With a handful of heavy hitting attacks as well as attack/defense debuffs, you'll fit the role of melee damage dealer quite nicely. Without a shield, there is only so much you can do to defend yourself, and (if you focus on strength more than constitution) you're quite squishy. The 2 most important stats for this build are Strength and Willpower. Willpower governs how much stamina you have, and you'll need plenty if you want to attack as hard and often as possible. Pouring your points into these 2 stats will leave your constitution stat pretty low, and you will not be able to withstand much damage.

A well geared and built tank can probably tank up to 10 enemies at once (As long as the enemies are sufficiently debuffed.) With a 2 handed weapon, there's no way you can withstand that much punishment. You can go toe to toe with one or two enemies at most. But remember that your role is that of dealing damage. Leave the aggro to the tank and focus on killing the things attacking your tank as fast as you can. As well as imposing attack/defense penalties on tougher enemies.

It wouldn't hurt to equip a shield and one handed weapon as your other weaponset to aid in tanking in case things get hairy. But later on in the game, higher tier shield talents such as shield wall and shield mastery/expertise become extremely vital and important to remain alive against the increasingly vicious enemies.

Why is Fenris so irritated with me all the time (Dragon Age 2)?

The character Fenris in Dragon Age 2 is angry at everything I do, whether I oppose mages or not! In one of the conversations that I've had with him, I tried every option multiple times (by reloading) to get a positive outcome, and he was still angry with me, no matter if what I said was supportive or not. I want to romance option with him, but it just doesn't seem like it's going to happen. Please give me some help on this, in detail. I really want to know what's going on.Why is Fenris so irritated with me all the time (Dragon Age 2)?
You know you can have a rivalry romance with all 5 of the romance-able characters in DA2 right?

Anyways, if you are a mage, the conversation you have with him after you leave Danarius' mansion for Fenris' first quest will ALWAYS end in rivalry. If you want to have a friendly romance, then be mean to mages and slavers OR don't bring him along on most of the quests. And don't forget to give him the book in act 2 and the sword in act 3, and he doesn't like it when you're overly sympathetic with him.Why is Fenris so irritated with me all the time (Dragon Age 2)?
To romance him select the dialogue option with the heart icon every chance you get and don't romance anyone else. If you want to gain friendship you have to take a very hard stance against slavers, blood magic, and mage freedom. You can romance him as a rival too, so don't be too worried about getting on his good side.

Otherwise I think you are just interpreting his overall grumpy attitude as hostility. He doesn't really start to open up until act 2 or when you get his friendship/rivalry high enough.

  • What is better weapon type in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual-wielding?

I want to be able to do a good amount of damage, but also be able to defend myself well, seeing how my character will be the tank. Which kind of weapon handling should I use for my character? What is better weapon type in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual-wielding?
I think the different skills you pick change how the weapon types are with your character.

Two Handed is slow but deals large amounts of damage, and it also has area effects and knockdown skills. So its great for tank types so they can just deliver hammerblow style attacks to knockdown opponents and deliver large amounts of damage slowly.

Sword and Shield is a great balanced combination. The shield gives you higher defence, but it gives out average damage at an average speed so its just a sort of balanced.

Dual wielding gives you very quick damage, with your strong hand hitting the same damage at the same speed as Sword and Shield, your weak hand can only use daggers and small weapons and hits with half damage, but it gives you that extra damage at high speed.

Really you should go with Dual Wielding because no companions use that. Alistair is good with Sword and Shield, Sten is good with two handed, Leliana is good with a bow. It just makes sense to go for dual wield. What is better weapon type in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual-wielding?
That, my friend, is a good question. I'll give you the layout of each setup.

S and S- Crappy attack, crappy defense, since you cant pull out your shield

Two handed- Great attack, slow attack speed (speed is everything in this game)

Dual- Great attack, fast attack speed.

For defense, you rely on armor and constitution. You shouldn't wast the thing that's most important (your weapon selection choice) when you could use it on armor.

For attack speed, it is MAJORLY important. Many times, it can determine life or death

The best choice is dual weapon. What is better weapon type in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual-wielding?
it depends on what role you want your toon to be in. if you want a tank the Sword and shield is good, its good defense and you can take more damage.

if you wantl lower but fast damage you can go with dual wielding

if you want huge damage but slower swings you can go 2handed.

i have done all three and had most fun with 2handers, the look the coolest too.
I go for dual wielding because it's fast and the talents are smoother and more interesting. However, if you;re being the tank, I would use a sword and shield. Two handed is slow and I found it incredibly boring.

    Dragon Age 2 character creation?

I'm trying to decide what type of character I want. I prefer high damage dealers that won't be ridiculously easyily overrun by enemies. Dps but with slight solo abilities. I'm leaning towards rogue or mage, but I don't have any concrete thoughts yet. I'm familer with this style of game as well as party management style (tank healer dps the likes). I would like some view on pros and cons on types by people, from their experience. I read the guide and the introductory book inside, but I want more from experience views, instead of broad vague statements...I will eventually try but what should I start with? Follow this guide for a shadow archer. I have played every other class, but this build is hands down my favorite. It's very versatile and makes the most efficient use of the bow. The guide is very thorough and will even tell you what gear to buy. Should I base my mage in dragon age Origins around the Spellweaver?

I just got the spellweaver and I'm thinking about starting over so I can make an epic arcane warrior fighting mage. My mage is already pretty powerfull so I don't know if I should start over. Is it a good idea to base a character around the spellweaver and if yes what spells/attributes should I put my points into to get the best arcane warrior fighting mage possible?Should I base my mage in dragon age Origins around the Spellweaver?
You dont really have to determine your character by finding a unique object in the game. Thats what mods are for. Anyhow it is your decision and as for the spells/attributes, use majority all your attrib on magic as magic substitutes strength when wearing armor. As for spells maybe AoE spells. Blood Mage is the best secondary speci in my opinion as wearing massive armor significantly increases the amount of mana u use for spells.

I dragon age I liked the diverse characters, plot, different areas, enemies, lore, design, everything! I actually cared and got emotionaly attatched and when it was over It felt like such a shame that awesome adventure had to stop. How much has dragon age 2 changed, what is missing and what's new? I hear alot of people got disapointed. Is Dragon Age 2 Great?
The game feels much more resemblant of a hack and slash game than the traditional rpg style that the original game was. The world is much smaller than the first one due to most of the game taking place in one major city, Kirkwall. The story, while more directed this time around, ultimately falls flat in comparison to the first one. As far as the characters go, the writing and dialogue are there in full form, though I didn't feel much towards the characters is comparison to my party from the original game. I felt it was an overall disappointing sequel. Not a bad game, just a not great continuation of the series. Hope that helps. Happy gaming.

I mean if I beat it with one character, will the game play ending and outcomes be the same for all or will it vary? How is the replay Value on Dragon Age Origins?
I wouldn't say it's insanely high but I think there's a fair desire to play the game at least twice, different origins and play styles can in fact dramatically alter the gameplay. Personally I did one "good guy" run and then one "evil guy" run and I was pretty much ready to shelf the game forever.

How do I get A female romance with Morrigan on Dragon Age Origins for ps3?

Ok ive givven her gifts, filled her meter all the way, done her quests, but the only thing that ive been able to get from her is a regular friendship wjen i want a romance w my female character... This is makin me so mad cuz i dno how to get her romance approval w my chick. How do I get A female romance with Morrigan on Dragon Age Origins for ps3?
Morrigan can only be romanced by a male Warden... Leliana is the only female companion who can be romanced by a female Warden. Sadly, if you really want to romance Morrigan you will have to start the game all over again with a male Warden.

Note: The male Warden can sleep with Morrigan when the approval meter reaches 51. For Leliana, the approval meter has to reach at least 71.

In Dragon Age Origins; is it beneficial to be a duelist specialization with archery talents?

If you're planning on switching back and forth from bow/arrows to swords then having both archery talents and duelist talents would be good though you wont be able to master either one. If you want to just be an archer then I would suggest getting ranger specialization then you can summon an animal to fight along side you which helps to keep bad guys from attacking you directly. If you want to just be a melee fighter then you shouldn't really be getting any of the archery talents at all it would just be a waste. In Dragon Age Origins; is it beneficial to be a duelist specialization with archery talents?

What is the most effective way of handling weapons in Dragon Age: Origins?

My character's strength will probably be the highest attribute, and I plan to give my character massive armor sets. Also, my character's class will be a warrior. I want to be able to do a good amount of damage, but also be able to defend myself well. Which way of handling weapons will be most effective: sword and shield, two-handed, or dual-weilding?What is the most effective way of handling weapons in Dragon Age: Origins?
    It is depend on you.

Which one do you like best ?

Two Handed Highest hit points, but slowest.

Sword and Shield. It has medium hit points with medium speed.

Dual-Weilding, fast, but lowest hit points of all three.

It doesn't matter which one really, but if you're going to be warrior, i suggest dual-wielding.

because it has high hit points and have one of the best weapons. Ageless, from Ozammar's royal palace.

the attributes i recommend for this build is.

50 strength so you can hit higher, 30 in dexterity at least so you won't miss much, and put some in cunnings just so you can get the persuasion. to 18 i think

nothing in willpower and magic, Although willpower increase your stamina. so if you really want you can add some points into that.

constitution is for health, add at least to 20 so you can survive longer before hitting that potions.

although i prefer mage over all because bioware always make their mages the best in almost all of their game. there's also a saying forgot from where but it's, "you will most likely lose if you don't have at least a mage in your squad."

    have fun man !!!

I did ^^What is the most effective way of handling weapons in Dragon Age: Origins?
I did two handed weapons with my warriors because you can have fun with dual-weilding with the rogue so if you want to experience all aspects of the game and do damage then go 2H with warrior.

Also 2H suits strength more, where DW suits a character with more dexterity. Don't bog yourself down with too much armor because it will increase fatigue and cost more stamina to use moves and over a long battle you will lose a lot of damage output if you keep running out of stamina.

Do not use sword and shield or big armor if you want to do damage, only use these if you want to be an untouchable tank ; )

How do you buy armor for your team in Dragon Age II?

I'm still in the beginning of the game (Kirkwall) and the armor I buy is restricted to my character. How do you buy armor for your team in Dragon Age II?
You can't change their armor, Its kind of different to Dragon Age:Origins, Instead of equipping armor to them they have their default armor, you find/buy upgrades for their armor, I think there's about 6 per companion. Also note that the higher level they get the stronger their armor gets.

Go here for more details and locations of the upgrades: http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Companio鈥?/a>

What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?

I plan to focus on my strength more than any other attribute. I want to be able to do a good amount of damage, but be able to defend myself? I will probably equip my character with the best armor and massive armor. Which way of handling weapons should I choose? What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
There's no one best way.Choose a play style and customize your stats for it.

Don't focus solely on strength. Remember that strength is the deciding factor in what kind of damage you do when you connect with a target, but dexterity determines how often you will actually connect sucessfully. You can have the best strength and still not hit for diddly, cause you won't be able to land any blows without dexterity.

Also remember that by wearing massive armor, you will draw more agression than heavy armor.

That aside, pick your play style - Tanking is often sword and shield, and those talents lend themselves to knockdowns, resisting knockdowns and drawing aggro from the party.

If you just like pure damage, go with dual wield, but dual wield requires very high dexterity to be effective. As a rogue, I went dual wield, used medium or light armor and had a defense rating second only to Alistair who was the sword/shield tank. In the rogue class however, you deal with high dexterity and/or cunning and only put as many points into strength as you need to wear the armor you want. I still did the highest amount of damage, and while I could dodge a lot of heat, Alistair's job as tank was to take the heat off me.

Unless you are doing a play through where you make as little possible use of your party as you can, don't ignore your party and the roles they play. If you choose to be a damage dealer, let your tank handle the aggro in battle.

If you choose to be the tank, set Alistair up to dual wield as a fighter. It seems a bit of a waste though since he comes with the start of the sword shield trees. What is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
if you're wearing massive armor already, which is for highest amount of defense you can have in an armor set, then I would suggest you either do two handed or sword/shield. dual wield are usually seen on rogues but it's all about personal preferences. if you're going to be high strength you might as well do two handed, the attacks will be slower but very powerful if you get the right two handed weaponWhat is the best way of handling weapons in Dragon Age Origins: two-handed, sword and shield, or dual wield?
In Dragon Age, it all depends on what your play style is. What I usually do is use the dual weapons. A long sword and a dagger, but that may not work for you. Just gotta experiment a bit.

What do the different colors indicate on the equipment screen in Dragon Age?

The screen where you are shown a character and you can equip them with different armor and weapons, there are a list of numbers on the bottom right of the window with your character in it, the number are either white, red or green...can anyone tell me what these colors mean? ThanksWhat do the different colors indicate on the equipment screen in Dragon Age?
What would be easier to care about would be checking the "More info" panel. This panel appears when you press I believe square for the PS3.

This panel explains about the equipment, shows you level required, along with whether you can equip it or not.

Those colors are just other indicators of the same information such as what Tier of Weaponry, etc. You won't have to worry about what the colors mean as long as you open up the "More info" panel.

I finished Dragon Age 2 and I have a few questions?

How do i get to lvl 20 when there are no more quests to do and were do i find the high dragon. Is there anything else to do i do i start over with a new character?

-Thanks in advance for your helpI finished Dragon Age 2 and I have a few questions?
Personally I loved Dragon Age II, but yet I have to agree it didn't live up to the bar set in Origins (And I fell that no game ever will)! :D

The High Dragon: In order to reach the High Dragon (In Act 3), you must receive the "Mine Massacre" quest, which you will get by talking to Hubert in Hightown during the day, or by simply going to The Bone Pit at any time during Act 3. In order to become eligible for the quest, you must have completed "The Bone Pit" quest in Act 1 and "Inside Job" in Act 2.

Reaching Level 20 - In Origins, reaching this level was no small feat. Fortunately, its not quite as difficult in the sequel. To reach this level, simply ALWAYS do ALL quests that are received in the mail. Also, do ALL companion quests during each act. This will require you to put a little bit of effort into making Good Friendships/Rivalries with your companions.

Hope I helped! :DI finished Dragon Age 2 and I have a few questions?
To get to level 20, just keep going to places like darktown, and the free marches. There will sometimes be random enemy encounters there. Also at night walk around lowtown and hightown for fights to level up. The high dragon is at the bone pit. There is a side mission at act 3 that will ask you to kill it. Since you've finished the game, you can start a new one as a different class (mage, rogue, warrior), you can have a romance with a different character, choose different dialogues, and make different decisions during certain quests to change the outcome... Trust me there is a lot that can be done. It is not as good as origins, but it's still a great game.I finished Dragon Age 2 and I have a few questions?
I, personally, found Dragon Age 2 to be a disappointment, especially when compared to origins.

The High Dragon is found in the Bone Pit during the quest Mine Massacre (Act 3).

What is the best sword and shield combination in Dragon Age Origins?

What is the best sword and the best shield you can equip to your character for a great sword and shield combo? What is the best sword and shield combination in Dragon Age Origins?
There isn't necessarily a "best" sword or shield, as some have effects that work better in certain circumstances than others. However, my favorite sword is BLIGHTBLOOD, which you acquire after completing the Darkspawn Chronicles (downloadable content). The sword has these stats: 11.20 damage, 1.0 str modifier, 3.20% crit, 4.00 armor pen., 3 runes; specials: +3% melee critical chance, +2 attack, +10% backstab/critical damage, poison: venom. The damage is already high. Coupled with +6.2% critical chance and 3 rune slots adds for one nasty sword. Other swords you might want to consider are Maric's Blade, Topsider's Honor, and Starfang (longsword). For a shield, Fade wall is pretty kick butt. 6 defense, 9 missile deflection, 1.00 str. modifier, 5.63 fatigue; specials: +3 defense, +20% healing effects!, +1/+2 stamina regen in combat, +25 stamina. The shield is awesome, but I hear there is a bug that makes the healing effect not work. I'm not sure if this has been corrected. Nevertheless its still a nice shield. In any case, if you want this shield, it occasionally drops from Gaxkang's body at the end of Unbound side quest.

    I pre-ordered dragon age:origins from gamestop?

I pre-ordered dragon age:origins from gamestop, and got the codes for wolf charm and memory band, but they are 16 characters. not 25? I enter it in on my Xbox 360 dashboard and it says "Please enter a valid 25 digit code."I pre-ordered dragon age:origins from gamestop?
You have to load the code in the games menu. When you start the game, go to downloadable content. Once there if you look at the bottom of the screen it will say press "Y" to load an EA Code. This will accept the 16 characters instead of the 25.

My character just leveled up to level 7 and I have a single specialization point. The problem is when I click on the specialization box nothing happens. Do I need to talk to someone or buy something to select a specialization? How do I use my first specialization point in Dragon Age Origins?
To spend your specialization points you must first unlock the specialization. Once you unlock it however, you will always have it (even on different accounts). You can buy the Ranger book from Bodahn. So you can keep it for your later accounts. You can learn the templar specialization from Allistar is he likes you enough, The shapeshifter from Morrigan (even though it is a COMPLETE waste), The berserker from Oghren, and the assassin from Zevahran. You have to buy the Spirit Healer from the store in Denerim, you can get the Champion later on in the game (I won't spoil it) just suffice to know it will be near the end. You can get the reaver from a sidequest in the Urn of the Sacred ashes (another spoiler so I won't say). And you can get the Duelist from A pirate in the Pearl in Denerim. You can get the Arcane Warrior from a little bottle with a spirit in it during your Elf quest. The other ones I have forgoten, but that covers most of them

Although, If you really want to know I will give you this website, It is really nice and teaches you EVERYthing about the game you need to know almost.

Dragon age origins battle - why does the main character keep repeating "Very well, it shall be done"?

The button to attack is X, however when you go into a battle, and start mashing X, he says this damned phrase through the entirity of the battle, and I have a hard time believing the makers of this game programmed this aspect this poorly. Is there some way to get this guy to shut the hell up and swing his sword, or am I doing something wrong?Dragon age origins battle - why does the main character keep repeating "Very well, it shall be done"?
You don't have to keep hitting the button, you hit it once and your character will automatically attack the enemy till one of you is dead. Then you target the next enemy and hit the button again. You only have to hit the button to switch targets, if you keep hitting it then your character will keep telling you various forms of that line.

Don't allow a lot of discussion during the activity. It can be hard to keep sharing if you hear a comment on everything you say.

Decide on the rules for your activity. For example, do you want a time limit. Do you want to allow anything negative/positive or just stick to neutral tidbits? Do you want to have a certain set number of times each person is allowed to discuss a fact? If so, how many and how restrictive do you want the discussion to be? (Do you want them to be allowed to discuss anything other than that specific fact during that time?)

Write your rules and guidelines down somewhere you can display them for the participants.

    Dragon Age Origins: Character Creation?

Hi, im curious how detailed this games is. Can you full customize your character or do they all look the same? like do all human warriors have the same face and hair? or is it like oblivion? or like Baldur's Gate at least? portraits?

Is it worth getting? Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga is one of the best games of all times. dos DAO compare?Dragon Age Origins: Character Creation?
The character creation is quite detailed, very much like Oblivion and Mass Effect. You can select individual portions of the face and alter them, including some more unique sections for a game like this: you can choose tattoos across the face of the character (unlike the two games I mentioned above), and you can even choose a speaking style for your character (usually about 4 or 5 styles depending on your class, race, and origin; this mostly effects how your character speaks in combat but not just conversation since your character is a mute there unfortunately).

I can't compare DA:O to Baldur's Gate, since unfortunately I never played that series or games, but DA:O is shaping up to be quite good. It isn't as ground breaking as Oblivion or Fallout 3, but it does have it's moments. If you aren't sure about the game, may I recommend that you at least give it a rent to see how you feel about it yourself.

Dragon Age 2 is a single player role-playing game (RPG) for play on the Xbox 360. Epic sequel to the BioWare developed 2009 Game of the Year, Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age II continues the adventure with a new hero, Hawke, and utilizes the choices made by the player to affect a story that spans ten years worth of time in-game. Additional game features include: the ability to choose your character's class and sex, a new cinematic in-game experience, a nonlinear narrative and the ability to import saved information from earlier Dragon Age games.

  • Dragon Age Origins (360) can you continue after finishing the main story?

I have just completed Dragon Age Origins, and noticed that you can not travel to any areas after completion... only to the DLC areas, I was wondering if there is any way to continue on with the game as the same character. Also, can you continue and go to any area if you purchase the DLC?

ThanksDragon Age Origins (360) can you continue after finishing the main story?
Once you've completed the game to the epilogue, it's done for good. You either need to start a new character, or re-load a save from before you finished the game. But, in March there will be an expansion that will let you continue your old characters where you left off after the end of the game.

Good Dragon Age: Origins Character Build?

Okay, I haven't played the game much at all. When I first started as a Elf Mage I got really bored and quit. Then I tried again as a Elf Roque and attempted to play as an archer, but it was really weak and I died and gave up again. My bro has played as a Human Warrior and gotten to level 18 and the end of game..

Can someone please tell me a good character build? Something very powerful but FUN to play with at the same time. Thank you!Good Dragon Age: Origins Character Build?
Mages are the most powerful class in the game, but it takes a few levels before you get strong spells. If you really don't want to be a mage, play a dual wield warrior or rogue. You will be a pure damage dealer. If you play as a rogue, make sure you take duelist and assassin as your specializations. For warriors it doesn't matter much, but I usually choose templar and champion.

In Dragon age 2 what the best character to choose a mage, a warrior or a rogue?

If it's your first playthrough, I'd go mage just to learn the basics and check out the various abilities you'll have availible in Varric's first creative version of the ogre battle. Then, once you've reached Kirkwall, you should try the other classes in turn. Getting all three types will net you a achievement, depending on the system you use, and let you see which play style will be better for you. Try picking your main character's class by figuring out at what range you want to play at. Unless your jumping into the middle of every crowd of enemies, choose rogue or mage. Also, you will have others in your party to fill the other roles your main character doesn't pick, so don't assume that picking a rogue at the beginning will leave you running from enemies the majority of time.In Dragon age 2 what the best character to choose a mage, a warrior or a rogue?
Rogue. If you choose mage you'll rape the game just like the first one and if you go for warrior you'll be bored to tears.....just like the first one.In Dragon age 2 what the best character to choose a mage, a warrior or a rogue?
that depends on you. they are all equally fun to play, im on round 2, started as a mag, now im doing a warrior.

Is mass effect 1 as good as dragon age: origins?

I just finished Dragon Age: Origins and consider it one of the best rpgs i've ever played. I can't afford the $50 for Dragon Age 2 now, so i'm thinking about buying Mass Effect 1.

Here are the questions i have:

    1. Is the story good?

    2. Is the storytelling as good as DA?

    3. Are the characters as well developed?

    4. Is the party combat system decent?

    5. How good are the rpg elements? (like the dialog choosing)Is mass effect 1 as good as dragon age: origins?
    1. Mass Effect does have a good story, though it's your standard "hero saves the universe" kind of plot.

    2. No, DA definitely has the edge when it comes to story telling. Mass Effect is satisfying enough though.

    3. Both games have great characters, though I like DA's more.

    4. I hated the party combat in ME1, it's a bit better in ME2. It's just very awkward to use. Origins wasn't amazing either, but at least it was intuitive.

    5. Unlike Origins ME has a voiced character. You click on a paraphrased dialogue option and you can hear your character respond. I really like this feature, it makes the cut scenes feel a lot more immersive. The game also keeps track of how good or evil your character decides to be and you can unlock more dialogue options. Is mass effect 1 as good as dragon age: origins?
its good than dragonage in my opinion but can't hope some for you

    it've got a good storyline

For a female character your options are Alastair, Zevran or Leliana.

There are "professionals" in the Pearl in Denerim who provide Adult Services.

If you choose the Human Noble origin you can engage in a brief relationship with an Elvish Handmade or a young Noble.

If you choose dwarvish noble you can engage in an encounter with 1 or 2 dwarvish ladies. Both that and the above option don't show anything on screen, its simply implied.

If I am not mistaken, then Fable Series is more or less that. You could also hit up Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, even choices in mass effect 1 effect mass effect 2 if you played it first.

Heavy Rain is suppose to be a psychological thriller than is basically choose your own adventure.

Neverwinter Nights, The Witcher, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and basically anything from Bioware. Hopefully that helps you out.Dragon age origins, conversations and stuff?
I love games with lots of dialogue! (If it's well written and well voice acted, at least.)

Any recent Bioware game is pretty much like that.

You should look into this game called The Witcher. Came out a few years ago on PC, and it's very much influenced by Bioware, as the game has a ton of conversations and very important key choices that affect the game later on.

It's only on PC, it's good but complicated and the learning curve is pretty steep. It's worth it for the story and the dialogue though.Dragon age origins, conversations and stuff?
the Fable and mass Effect series are like that.

for older games there is Knights of the Old Republic.

Why can't the glitch in Dragon age 2 work now?

Its the glitch that causes characters to level up and get more money.... Is it possible that the game is already patched. Im using a PS3 btw..Why can't the glitch in Dragon age 2 work now?
That glitch was patched a while ago, but I didn't believe it was possible to patch games on the PS3 as of now with PSN being disabled still. Why can't the glitch in Dragon age 2 work now?
firstly have you drawn your weapon and approached the character, then waited till they sheath their weapon and pressed the action button ( A or X ) repeatedly?

Dragon Age Origins question: what does 'hardening' a character mean?

I know HOW to harden a character in the game, but I don't really know what it MEANS to do so.

What does it mean? What happens to the character after you 'harden' their personality?

Does it mean that their approval rating is HIGH, from then on out or something?Dragon Age Origins question: what does 'hardening' a character mean?
It basically means that they will become less selfless in a way and more-so think more about what they think is best for them. Example: after hardening Alistair, he will be more optimistic about becoming king of Ferelden.Dragon Age Origins question: what does 'hardening' a character mean?
It means they won't be so sensitive about things. Before hardening, they will have things that they will absolutely not like. Like Leliana doesn't like you being mean to people. Alistair doesn't like you being amoral. But if you harden them, they won't mind quite so much as they used to. Basically, they learn that the world is not a charity and some things just must be a certain way.

  • Dragon age origins character selection?

Iv already posted a question about this game but thought id post this as an after thought.. Im currently playing human warrior and have only got a little into the game (initiation). Is there alot of difference if you start as say a dwarf or elf ?? Also which class do you prefer, warrior, mage, thief or .. ?? the other one ??Dragon age origins character selection?
Each race has bonuses to certain stats - therefore if you want to start with max stats suited for a warrior the races would be (in order) - dwarf, human, elf

Of course you can play a warrior with any race and just compensate with your attribute point allocation as you level up.

I have found that being a mage with the Arcane Warrior specialization is great. The first ability in the Arcane Warrior chain enables you to use your magic stat to determine which weapons and armor you can use - therefore you pretty much get to play both as a mage and a melee combatant.Dragon age origins character selection?
There are a few differences depending on what origin you start with. You won't really see it with the human noble until closer to the end of the game. People will also react differently to you based on your background.

I like to play as a mage, they are super powerful in this game.

Dragon Age: Origins Character Creation Help?

I'm making a rouge female noble, and I need help choosing a voice for her.

    Which voice says this?

"Look! See that? That's a trap!"

Is it Mystical? Or Violent?Dragon Age: Origins Character Creation Help?
I think its the Mystical, cause i have mine set on Violent and she doesn't really say that. (Then again mines a mage...)

    Character Creation in Dragon Age?

I want to know what you guys would think would be the best character you can create. I have no specifics i just need ideas.Character Creation in Dragon Age?
Create all of them. I've had a great deal of fun going through all of their back-stories! A Dalish elf starts off far differently than a city elf, a Dwarf Noble far different then a Dwarf commoner, etc, etc.

As far as classes go, mage is easiest, warrior next, then rogue (just my opinion though).

Just bought Dragon Age 2 on PC and wondering what your preferences are on character class and build?

AFAIK you play one character in DA2, and not different races and things. You play Hawke and that's it. Still, I prefer for warriors a Weapon and Shield setup, whilst for rogues I do a Dual Weapon setup.

In Dragon Age: Origins I had Warrior: Weapon and Shield as well as a Two Handed Weapon setup, but that was just too slow. With the Rogue I tried the Archery thing, but it was too boring for me. Switched back to Dual Weapon soon, and this combined with the Assassin and Bard speciality makes me almost invulnerable! :D

EDIT: Oh OK. Nah, I still prefer Warrior or Rogue. I like the hands-on approach, and mages just don't have that. No crit, no backstabs, no bloody mess. Well, maybe if I tried as Arcane Warrior... Hey, thanks for the idea!

Still, Warrior with Weapon and Shield build maxed out is imba, cannot be knocked down, does major damage and has a crapload of stuns available to use. Just get your stats right... :DJust bought Dragon Age 2 on PC and wondering what your preferences are on character class and build?
In DA2 mages have been dumbed down, so to speak :) coz in DA:O, mages had massive AoE spells and some very heavy nukes, but theyre somewhat weaker this time around. BUT theyre still fun to play and sport some very nice spells and animations!

As far as Warriors n rogues go... warriors are most fun to play in onehanded weapons as damage dealers. go for Reaver specialization for some fun moments wid the bosses!!

Rogues are by far the most fun as they can literally obliterate opponents in a single strike!!! coupled with a strong supporting team, you'll be a force to reckon with even in higher difficultiesJust bought Dragon Age 2 on PC and wondering what your preferences are on character class and build?
quick advise: when you get to a new town, and see a big guy in a cage? he is AWESOME and he is a good guy that you will certainly want on your team right away! I was an Elf, the vengeful ones that lived in the forests. Her name was Ecinah

have fun :)Just bought Dragon Age 2 on PC and wondering what your preferences are on character class and build?
Mage all the way, once you hit level 7 you get god powers, literally
