In Dragon Age: Orgins, are the Werewolves friendly to the character or hostile?

I want to know before i play it, I like Lycans and dont want to fight agenst them...In Dragon Age: Orgins, are the Werewolves friendly to the character or hostile?
For a while they will attack you automatically. If you've got the skill, you can avoid some of the fights by talking your way out of them, but most of the fights can't be avoided like this. However, you can choose to team up with the werewolves to destroy their enemies: once you are talking to their leader in the ruins, you will come across a Hard Persuasion, if you can pass that, then you will lead the werewolves on a charge to defeat their enemies. This will grant you an achievement, and allow you to call on your werewolf allies during the final mission.



I'm in the same boat as you, I would rather not kill the werewolves, but they tend to attack you first, so I have to defend myself.In Dragon Age: Orgins, are the Werewolves friendly to the character or hostile?
The werewolves that attack you initially are crazed and rabid, so you can't negotiate with them. Later you meet talking werewolves and can choose to either negotiate peace or help them destroy the elves.
